The Sticky Burger at Archer’s Tavern (Centerville)
Peanut butter and jelly – yes. Peanut butter and chocolate – dreamy. Peanut butter and hamburger?!?
Archer’s Tavern in Centerville is one of my family’s favorite places to visit. Regardless of what we have ordered, the food is always very good, served hot and with a smile. They have a ton of beers available on tap that you cannot find anywhere else. Just an overall great experience in eating if you are near one of their locations (Centerville and Dorothy Lane).
So when I heard that the Sticky Burger at Archer’s was something they are known for, I wasn’t sure if I wanted to give it a go. Although I love peanut butter, I just could imagine the taste going with a hamburger and bacon. Actually, I avoided getting one as long as I could for fear of wasting money on a meal I wouldn’t enjoy.
But I can honestly say that the Sticky Burger truly IS GREAT! I was truly blown away with how good the burger really is, and now see why so many people have it ranked so high on their lists. The flavor from the peanut butter is not overwhelming at all, and simply finishes as an aftertaste. Very interesting combination that really works! The sandwich comes with bacon, lettuce, tomato, onions, pickles, jack cheese and peanut butter. There is even a side of jalapeño jelly that you can add for extra flavor. A side of fries tops off this hearty meal – one I would recommend you try next time you are at one of their locations.
And the best rating I can give a place is simply answering the question…
“Would I come back here again?” The answer to that is MOST LIKELY.
Affordability for the Working Man: $9.32 for a Sticky Burger, fries and water
