Italian BurgerOkay – this is why I don’t like the specialty burgers. They just never live up to the great American classic of a standard burger with all the toppings for me. Don’t get me wrong, I still like trying the gourmet burgers with “themed fixings”, but they just don’t stack up against my love of the classics.

If you have read the reviews for the five-star burgers on this site, you will know that Blind Bob’s Double Cheeseburgers are definitely in the conversation for the best in the area.

So maybe my expectations were out of whack when I tried their Italian Burger? I mean…following a legend is never easy. This burger comes standard with provolone cheese, basil, sautéed green peppers and onions, lettuce and marinara sauce. The beef was juicy and well cooked, but when the sauce was added, there just wasn’t much flavor. Marinara is pretty reserved for a sauce, so it makes perfect sense – nothing on there that popped or added contrast. It wasn’t “bad” – just wasn’t great.

I highly recommend going to Blind Bob’s and trying out their incredible menu. And you know that everyone’s tastes are different, so there are certainly going to be people who enjoy this sandwich more than I did. But I would stick with their cheeseburger over this specialty burger – because it wasn’t that “special.”

“Would I come back here again?” The answer to that is every chance I get! Just not for this particular hamburger.

BONUS

We saw on the menu a peculiar soup, one that I had never heard of before. PICKLE SOUP is their take on potato soup, with a twist! On the menu it reads “Sounds strange (we know), but Tastes Amazing”.

We ordered a cup of this soup to try it, and it blew our socks off! No kidding. One of the best soups I have tasted in my 48 years on this planet. We even got a to-go order to bring home with us if that tells you anything? 🙂

Do yourself a favor and give it a try.
