The Golden Lamb Tavern Burger
Voted Best Burger in Warren County, 2017
I’ve lived near the Golden Lamb for most of my life, and never had considered them for making hamburgers. Thought of them more as a fine dining restauraunt – but have discovered otherwise. They have a great dining menu for sure, but also offer great lunch items, sandwiches and more. So I was pleasantly surprised to see the Tavern Burger on their menu during a recent trip.
Their burgers are made with a special house blend of chuck, short rib and brisket, served with hand-cut fries. The Tavern Burger had won the award for best burger in Warren County, so naturally I had to see for myself if this was true! This simple burger comes with sharp cheddar cheese, garlic aioli, shredded lettuce, tomato, onion and pickle.
It didn’t take long for me to see why they won that award. This is a VERY GOOD burger – and the simple condiments allow the flavor to shine through. I didn’t add any mustard, ketchup or mayo…just enjoyed this sandwich the way it was presented to me. The beef was juicy and cooked to perfection, with a great taste. They went a little light on the fry portion, as you can see with the image above – so the meal didn’t really fill me up completely. But all-in-all, this was a very solid hamburger that I would recommend next time you visit.
And the best rating I can give a place is simply answering the question…
“Would I come back here again?” The answer to that is PROBABLY.
Affordability for the Working Man: $12.95 for a Tavern Burger, fries and water
